Name: Sam Speller
Job title: Charity Partnership Manager
Born in: Hitchin
History: I started in Hospitality from very young and worked in some very good kitchens, I progressed to management and set up a Charity training vulnerable adults in trades associated within the Hospitality Industry. A great move for me to work with Carita and utilise my management skills with fundraising objectives.
Experience: Business Development, Marketing and Charity Management
Biggest challenge: Running a successful corporate conference and gala dinner at the premises of a Charity utilising solely volunteers for staff was a real challenge professionally. Raising my two children and seeing them stride through the pressures of the new digital generation is also a challenge. Both challenges however have given me a drive and passion to continuously challenge myself professionally and personally.
Something you didn’t know: Cycling from my home town of Stevenage to its twin town in Germany, Ingelheim am Rhein in aid of Help for Heroes. Over 500 miles travelled by bike, with a one-man tent, it was a great experience and I would love to do a similar challenge again!
